Articulate Sound are a midlands based, digital label that are at the forefront of the UK underground bass scene. Set out to give undiscovered, upcoming artists a platform and foundation to showcase their talent, and to look for individual styles and sounds you won’t hear anywhere else. Articulate specialise in UK Bass, UK Funky and Breaks however covering all spectrums of the scene, from Bassline to Grime they have it covered.
Founded in 2015 as a promotional Soundcloud channel, they then went on to release a succession of free compilations, featuring artists from all over the world such as Landis LaPace and Cellardore to name a few. In the closing months of 2016, they then took it a step further and released a huge joint collaboration with renowned promoter, distributor and publisher Pack London. Although only being a free channel, Articulate Sounds releases have received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse, Represent and Radar amongst many others.
Along with releasing over 140 tracks for over 70 different artists, Articulate Sound have now also launched their own events, showcasing their extensive roster and some of the best upcoming artists in the underground scene, with TC4, Darkzy and Murder He Wrote headlining thus far.
In 2017, Articulate grew even stronger, hitting number 1 in the UKG and Breakbeat charts with their debut official release by Daze Prism, receiving support from the likes of My Nu Leng, DJ EJ and many others and even getting called “one of the most consistent curator channels in modern broken and bass music” by Juno Download. Articulate then went onto hit number 1 again for Doc Zee’s debut release “Feel Free”, which has since been featured in the likes of DJMag and Dummy. Finishing off 2017 Articulate released their final EP of the year titled “PINK GUN” by Ivo and went onto be called “One of our standout labels of 2017 for a top draw project” by Juno Download themselves. 2018 has been no calmer for Articulate, already releasing Spectrum’s debut single “Resonate” in January aswell as having releases lined up for the next 12 months that are sure to cook up a storm, it’s fair to say Articulate are not a label to sleep on.
